Patterson Park
(49).jpgPatterson Park is one of Baltimore’s most venerable and enchanting public parks. Formally introduced in 1852, Patterson Park was a gift to the citizens of Baltimore, a place for families to picnic and promenade among picturesque, amenity-filled acres. After years of neglect and abuse, this once-vital landmark gradually diminished into a grim period of disrepair, taking the soul of a neighborhood with it. Thanks to the dedication, generosity, and hard work of civic-minded individuals and organizations, Patterson Park is undergoing a profound renaissance. Through continuing revitalization projects, Patterson Park is once again the proud community focal point that our forbearers bequeathed to the city of Baltimore.
"What we're doing is important because it is proving that poor, inner city neighborhoods don't have to fail, that we can bring our city back, block by block and neighborhood by neighborhood."
